Steven M. Smith' "The Jaakhin" gets Artwork and IndieGoGo Campaign
My name is Steven M. Smith and I have been
a dreamer for many years now, yes a dreamer, I dream for a living, write it
down and film it, what an honor it is to be able to do that, stop you say, I am
a dreamer too and I never get anywhere, well it is about making sure your feet
are securely on the ground and never take criticism as a bad thing. 7 years ago
something bad stopped me in my tracks, a life changing moment, I knew then that
I was going to be a YES MAN, and not the Jim Carrey version, but one who does
it, that thing he speaks about, I tell everyone to get up and go out there and
do it, do the thing you want to do in life and have no regrets for it. I used
to say, I want to make this film, now I say I am going to make this film and it
gets made.
The Jaakhin is my next horror project: The
Jaakhin is a female ghost who has been banished under a spell to the depths of
a British WWII home, hidden from the world. 70 years on and the man who put her
there finally dies from extreme old age and The Jaakhin is free. A new family
move into the house and The Jaakhin is determined to finish a ritual she tried
to complete 70 years previously...
We are filming in March in the UK with a
great cast and crew. Neil Dickson (Biggles himself) plays a Priest in The Jaakhin
he co-starred opposite Ian McShane, Susan Sarandon, James Mason and Ava
Gardner. This led to Dickson playing the title role of James Bigglesworth in "Biggles:
Adventures in Time". Since then he has been seen in David Lynch's
"Inland Empire", "Time Cop 2", "Lost Lake",
"Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion" and such TV series as
"Chuck", "Alias", and "Sliders". His voice can be
heard on numerous animated series including "Rugrats", "The Wild
Thornberries", "Gargoyles", "Johnny Quest" and
"Iron Man" as well as feature films including "Body of
Lies", "Beowulf", "Aragon" and "Pirates of the
Carribean". He has also been the voice of "Jaguar" motorcars,
Propel water and Delphi among others. He recently triumphed on stage as Stephen
Wyatt's "The Standard Bearer", directed by Julian Sands.
I’ve been asked to list my 10 favorite films;
I think this is difficult so I will list the ten horror/supernatural films, in
no specific order, that inspired me. HALLOWEEN (1978) JAWS (1975) THE EXORCIST
(1977) POLTERGEIST (1982) THE WOMAN IN BLACK (1989) THE SIXTH SENSE (1999) THE
OTHERS (2001) PSYCHO (1960) SAW (2004) THE CONJURING (2013)
These films, are what movie making is about,
great story, great suspense, great twists, their budgets are minimal and all
were hugely successful. The Jaakhin is something can anyone can get involved in
– we have some incredible rewards and I am hoping that someone will take up the
ultimate reward of GET KILLED IN OUR MOVIE BY THE JAAKHIN. We will design a death
kill by The Jaakhin and SFX make up team will create some incredible gore
filled design.
